A relaxed, casual environment, Starting Over Coffee House is the perfect place to begin
your day or unwind with friends in the evening. Enjoy your favorite drinks as you
catch up on your
reading or your paperwork. The eclectic environment mixes furniture and decorations
from many
different styles and time periods. The walls are covered with the works of local artist as
well as hand
crafted dreamcatchers and other native American artifacts. Listen to the live
performances by local
and National musicians or lively conversations during our regular book club meetings. Or
just relax
to soothing music and let your worries melt away.
| When the doors opened in April of
1997, owner Julia "Star" Newsom envisioned a place where people from all
backgrounds would come together over a good cup of coffee and share their life
experiences. Many things have changed since then, but that one goal will always remain. |

To open the coffee house, Julia left behind a long
career of working with youth in the not for
profit world. Playing off of her nickname "Star", the name Starting Over was
decided upon, as a
coffee house is a place where you can start your day over. She recognizes that life is
ever changing
and celebrates the changes in her life as well as her customers

Julia
Newsom, the proprietor of the coffee shop, is a friendly, kind-hearted and open minded
person. She is happy to answer any question you may have, so feel free to ask.
"My hope is to serve quality beverages and offer an
atmosphere that is warm and inviting. I want my customers to feel like they are in their
own home or the home of a very good friend."
